Welcome to SOIN, a platform dedicated to promoting social inclusion and reducing loneliness by connecting individuals with local groups and organisations. By accessing or using SOIN, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our platform.

1.    Use of the Platform

1.1.      Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use SOIN. By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement.

1.2.      Account Registration: To access certain features of SOIN, you must create an account to use certain features of the platform.  You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

1.3.      Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to use SOIN for any unlawful or harmful purposes, including but not limited to:

·         Harassment, abuse, or intimidation of other users.

·         Posting or sharing offensive, defamatory, or obscene content.

·         Building connections with the intent of grooming individuals in order to manipulate them into abuse.

·         Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation.

·         Contains hate speech, harassment, or threats.

·         Promotes violence, terrorism, discrimination, or illegal activities.

·         Engaging in activities that could harm the platform or its users.

·         To send, knowingly receive, upload, download, share, post, use or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards

1.4.      Report content and members:

·         Reporting Content: Any post, comment, or resource on SOIN that is offensive, harmful, or infringes on IP rights can be reported for investigation using the reporting button.

·         Reporting Members: Members are encouraged to report other members (individuals, groups and businesses) on the violent or graphic content they encounter on the platform or for harassment, inappropriate behaviour, hate speech, threats, or other violations of SOIN’s Values and Community Guidelines.

·         Details Required: When reporting members or content, members should provide evidence, such as screenshots, links, or descriptions, that support their claim.

2.    Content and Intellectual Property

2.1.      User Content: You retain ownership of any content you post on SOIN. By posting content, you grant SOIN a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content aligned with the operating model of the platform.

2.2.      SOIN Content: All content and materials provided by SOIN, including but not limited to text, images, audio, logos and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any SOIN content without our express permission.

3.    Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of SOIN is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the platform, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.

4.    Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOIN shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the platform, including but not limited to:

·         Unauthorised access to your account or data.

·         Errors or interruptions in the operation of the platform.

5.    Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to SOIN at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if you violate these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use SOIN will immediately cease.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, Scotland and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
